Memorial to Thomas Bewick
New York based artist Mark Dion was commissioned by Locus+ in collaboration with Newcastle City Council's Offcentre Public Realm programme.
Dion's work celebrates Northumberland's greatest artist and woodgraver Thomas Bewick, the father of modern English book illustration. This temporary installation marked the completion of the refurbishment of St Michael's Church, Byker.
