The Inspire Project (South East Northumberland Public Art Initiative) was launched at the end of 2003 to make a significant contribution to the renaissance of South East Northumberland by improving the quality of the built and natural environments through public art and quality design.
‘Dislocating Depths’ are a selection of contemporary images displayed beneath the surface of the water at Ashington Leisure Centre.
Reproduced on special waterproof acrylic with oil based ink and a clear vinyl laminate, the photographs have been mounted on the swimming pool walls. Visitors were supplied with goggles to give them a more detailed view of the work.
